Abstract

Background: The majority of the reported cases of lymphomas associated with breast implants of T-cell type-with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). 6 cases of B-cell lymphoma associated with breast implants have been reported worldwide. All cases presented with unilateral breast involvement. As of April 2020, there are 68 confirmed reports of BIA-ALCL in the UK and about 800 cases worldwide, with 33 deaths attributed to BIA ALCL. Reports suggesting that textured implants are the causative factor, as there have been no reported cases of BIA-ALCL in patients with a breast implant history which includes a smooth textured implant.
