The main goal of this study is to develop a cost-effective and efficient herbal gel formulation that includes an extract from the Raimuniya (Lantana camara) leaf. This formulation is intended to prevent the common adverse effects associated with allopathic drugs. The present research relates to an herbal gel formulation comprising: 0.1 to 1 % w/v of a Lantana camara leaves extract; 0.1 to 5 % w/v of a thickening agent; 0.1 to 1 % w/v of a preservative; 0.1 to 5 % v/v of a buffering agent; 1 to 10 % v/v of a stabilizer; and rest being a vehicle. The current study systematically evaluate several combinations of Lantana camara extract with different natural excipients in order to develop a stable and efficacious herbal gel. In addition, the present research includes a comprehensive examination of the rheological characteristics of the gel to ideal skin contact and absorption, hence satisfying the need for in-vivo effectiveness investigations.
