Abstract

This study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the growth and sustainability of small entrepreneurs in India using structural equation modeling with Smart PLS 4.0. The research investigates the relationships between Market Access (MA), Entrepreneurial Resilience (ER), Business Agility (BA), and Business Sustainability (BS). Data was collected from 275 small business entrepreneurs in India using a crosssectional survey design. The results indicate that Business Agility positively influences Business Sustainability, and Entrepreneurial Resilience positively affects Business Agility. Market Access was found to enhance both Business Agility and Business Sustainability. Interestingly, the direct effect of Entrepreneurial Resilience on Business Sustainability was not supported, suggesting the importance of mediating factors. The study highlights the critical roles of Business Agility and Market Access as intermediaries that strengthen the overall resilience and sustainability of small businesses in the face of crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
